There seem to be lots of duplicate urls for every page

Hi guy,

As the title mentioned, there seem to be lots of duplicate urls for every page because it doesn't deal with this case. For example, the only url for our page called "news":

http://www.domain.com/news.aspx it looks okay.

However, we also can visit this page with lots of url below:

http://www.domain.com/news/xxx_1.aspx

http://www.domain.com/news/xxx_2.aspx

http://www.domain.com/news/xxx_3.aspx

Obviously it will tell Search Engines with lots of duplicate contents with lower index.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

I understand what you mean.

But it is really not easy to know if a url is a good ok bad url.

Because for example in your case xxx_1 can be a part of the url corresponding to a module on the page news.
For example the first article on the page news.

I can maybe introduce a restrictive mode, witch return a 404 Not found for all urls not know by the OpenUrlRewriter (urls you see in the sitemap)

Your ideas are also welcome.

Yes, we need to deal with so similar usercase and the 404 not found should one reasonable solution.

Also we need to introduce a new restrictive option to make the above 404 work if users are sure that there will not any modules to build urls in those pages.

The Url Adapater component works as we expected, please check out this url:

http://www.dnnsharp.com/company/__wrong_postfix_with_anything_here__

Plus we need to exclude the sample urls below:

http://www.domain.com/news?any_paramater_key=value

http://www.domain.com/news?ctl=value ctl is the core dnn paramater

Hope it helps.

Hi,
I will look at this.

I think that Url Adapter don't offer a real solutions for modules with parameters (no module providers).
